Without this, the gateway will fail to start because it cannot detect the sink since it cannot access the serial port.

This must be done for sensor detection, encryption setup and others that access the serial port, which obviously must not then be in use by the gateway container.

When the GPIO jump wires are connected, one must use /dev/serial0 for communication instead of /dev/ttyACM0. So we assume that they are present when running this tool on RPi.
